INDUSTRY AND PROJECTS MANAGER , School of Engineering (SOE)-New Engineering Education Transformation (NEET) , to kickstart business development, industry engagement, and resource development for the NEET program that align with its values and goals. The goal is to increase student engagement and opportunities through company-sponsored projects and internships and related fund-raising programs from industry and individuals capable of making gifts to NEET. Will be responsible for developing and managing a portfolio to maintain and cultivate relationships with sponsors and prospective companies and for cultivating relationships for all of NEET's industry engagements; working with NEET thread faculty leads and instructors, other MIT faculty, and MIT's Makerspaces, Industrial Liaison Program, Office of Experiential Learning, and industry partners to recruit, identify, screen, deploy, coordinate, and manage industry-based projects and internships across all three NEET threads --Autonomous Machines, Climate and Sustainability Systems, and Living Machines; and working with NEET's executive director and faculty co-directors and the SOE's assistant dean for development to plan, organize, and deploy industry engagements and fundraising programs.
Job Requirements REQUIRED : bachelor's degree in a related field; five years' experience in industry, industry-sponsored academic programs, business development, proposal development, partnership management, program management, or alumni relations and front-line fundraising in an R1 university/nonprofit setting; excellent time-management, problem-solving, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, public speaking/presentation, and written communication skills; success securing foundation/corporate/government/individual grants and donations; high-level proficiency with Microsoft Office, cloud-based collaboration tools, and social media; and ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team member. The schedule is flexible and could be hybrid or remote.
Must be able to work evenings and occasional weekend hours with advance notice and travel regionally, out-of-state and internationally (10-20% of the time). There is no travel involved during the extended pandemic. This will be reviewed from time to time based on the individual's needs and those of NEET, with health and safety considerations being of prime importance.
