Under the direction of the Community Engagement Manager, the Events Coordinator will plan and execute events that support Nebraska Public Media's programming and build relationships with a wide variety of communities across the state. This role will also assist with internal event coordination, connecting with other departments that plan events (including education, development, and production) to maintain an internal events calendar and develop best practices for event planning and management. Some statewide travel and evening/weekend work will be required.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, business, event planning, or other related field and one year demonstrated experience planning both large and small-scale events; equivalent education/experience considered. Familiarity with budgeting, invoicing and best practices for vendor management. Ability to work cooperatively with internal and external partners. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Ability to solve problems, especially in situations that may change rapidly. Excellent interpersonal and oral/written communications skills. Ability to work with a wide variety of audiences and communities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with project management, email marketing, web CMS and event registration software. Familiarity with nonprofit organizations and/or media production. Customer service experience.
