Overview
The Experiential Learning Manager at NYU Tulsa develops and manages internship and other experiential learning opportunities for NYU students in the Tulsa metropolitan area, with a focus on undergraduate students participating in semester-length or short-term study away programs there. Among other responsibilities, the Manager cultivates and maintains strong relationships with a wide range of nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and private firms in the Tulsa area in order to create internship and other experiential learning opportunities for NYU students and to place qualified students into those opportunities; works directly with students before, during, and sometimes after their time in Tulsa in order to help them identify and secure appropriate placements and to make the most of their experiences; and plans and supports associated events and programming. The role requires regular collaboration and coordination with a range of other offices and stakeholders at NYU, including the Wasserman Center for Career Development, the Office of Global Programs, and multiple schools and departments, as well as with Tulsa's George Kaiser Family Foundation, a key supporter of NYU Tulsa. An ideal candidate will have previous work experience with undergraduate students, experiential learning programs, internship programs, and/or study abroad/study away programs.
Responsibilities
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Higher Education, International Education, Counseling, Social Work or related field
Preferred Education: Master's Degree
Required Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience including career development/counseling, experiential learning, and/or program management required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Excellent cross-cultural communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders including university partners/vendors Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and student information systems excellent oral and written presentation skills
Qualifications
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary for this position is USD $70,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
