Under the USC Museums umbrella, the Marketing Coordinator will work alongside the Director of Communications and Marketing on developing, executing, and managing effective Online, print, and social media marketing initiatives to promote USC's two museums: the Fisher Museum of Art and the Pacific Asia Museum, and their exhibitions and programs with the goal of driving attendance, raising awareness about, and enhancing the reputation of both the Fisher Museum of Art and Pacific Asia Museum. This position is hybrid and requires flexibility, independence and proactive decision making as the incumbent will be working from home, and on a weekly basis visit the Fisher Museum on USCâs campus, and the Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena, CA.
IN ADDITION, THIS POSITION WILL HAVE SOME NIGHTS AND WEEKEND HOURS, BASED ON MUSEUM NEEDS.
Job Accountabilities:
Collaborate with the ideation and execution of social media campaigns to support new and existing exhibitions and programs and increase and propel channel growth and engagement.
Develop and execute posts for USC Museumâs social media channels, including accounts for Fisher Museum and Pacific Asia Museumâs Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and emerging platforms, in collaboration with the Director of Communications and Marketing. Promotes posts to drive ticket and store sales as well as general awareness of the Fisher Museum of Art and Pacific Asia Museum.
Becomes USC Museumâs digital storyteller and brings a passion for connecting to each museumâs relevant communities, serves as the voice of the Fisher and Pacific Asia Museum, and leads analytics and reporting of social media programs.
Ensures consistency, cultural sensitivity and cohesion in messaging and themes in all marketing campaigns and promotional collateral. Coordinates with a wide range of institutional stakeholders, including staff from Public Programs, Development, Education, Store, and Visitor Services.
Designs promotion via flyers, posters, and materials for marketing programming or for those at the Visitor Services desk.
Assists with basic photography and image manipulation (cropping, text overlays), as needed for the social media, website, and e-blasts.
Preferred Qualifications:
Education
B.A. in marketing, English, communications, journalism, or related equivalent experience.
OR BFA in Graphic Design or Photography
3 years of experience in a marketing/communications environment. Experience in nonprofit marketing and track record in increasing institutional attendance are highly preferred.
Experience with current marketing and digital media practices and trends.
Strong interpersonal skills along with verbal and written communication skills.
Web-savvy: ability to analyze and report on marketing performance metrics.
Ability to successfully organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment with strong attention to detail and exceptional teamwork.
Proven skills in editing, copy editing, and proofreading.
Proficiency with Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Drive; content management systems (such as Wordpress); and Photoshop and InDesign.
Native fluency of at least one foreign language
Ability to work with a range of audiences and cultures.
Ability to be a self-starter with little supervision with strong writing and communication skills.
Must have a driverâs license and access to a vehicle.
