Position Overview:

The Accounting Manager is a full-time, exempt salaried position with a competitive benefits and rewards package. The role requires on-site work at the Austin office two scheduled days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely for the remaining three days.

The Accounting Manager works closely with internal accounting staff, external accounting partners, and volunteer leaders to support reconciliations, compliance, audits, and internal controls. The position requires strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including oversight of staff, workflows, accuracy, and timeliness.
• Serve as the primary liaison with CPA Firm, coordinating monthly close activities, reconciliations, and follow-up items
• Assist with monthly reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting in QuickBooks
• Support audit preparation and compliance activities, including Forms 1099 and Form 990 data collection
• Assist with updates and corrections in iMIS related to dues invoicing and chapter status changes
• Assist the Executive Director with HR-adjacent duties, including serving as benefits liaison, supporting onboarding and offboarding processes, and assisting with annual 401(k) compliance reporting
• Support committee financial tools, reporting, and assigned liaison responsibilities
• Partner with accounting team members on reconciliations and reporting tasks
• Participate in cross-training to support coverage and business continuity, including payroll processes
