Primary Function:                    

• Responsible for managing industry branding, digital media, and external communications

Specific Responsibilities:  

• Responsible for media relations, public relations, crisis communications, and editorial management of communications to members.
• Responsible for raising the profile of the chemical industry in the state of Texas, with a focus on community outreach, public policy makers and media relations.
• Responsible for developing and executing communication strategies through social media and digital content.
• Responsible for developing, coordinating and managing industry outreach, communications, and educational content.
• Responsible for all media and public relations activities and implementing strategies that communicate organization goals, objectives, programs, services and policies.

Other Responsibilities:

• Assist with awards programs including video and slide presentation.
• Assist with development of programs and other communications for meetings and events.
• Maintain external mailing list for targeted external communications. 
• Stay abreast of current marketing communications and technology.
• Assist with design and procurement of company stationery and business communications tools.
• Travel required is about 30%.
• Performs other duties as required and directed by the President.

Requirements:

• Bachelors in Communications or Public Affairs
• 5+ years’ experience in corporate communications, digital media firm, or public affairs consulting
  • Political experience is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Ability to operate as an effective tactical and strategic thinker.

• Microsoft Office
• Database Management Software
• Other graphic/scanner/photo software as needed
