Associate Director of Stakeholder Relations
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Stakeholder Relations, the Associate Director of Stakeholder Relations is responsible for day-to-day implementation of initiatives that involve collaborations with external entities and Barnard faculty. This includes Beyond Barnard's Internship programs (and the funding and initiatives that comprise it, like GRoWing the Arts, the Laidlaw Research & Leadership Program, the Liman Fellows, etc.). It also includes participation in steering committees and collaborative endeavors like the Summer Research Institute, Bridgewater Scholars Program, and other similar partnership efforts that may arise.
In collaboration with the Director of Stakeholder Relations, the Associate Director is a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders who support and/or participate in Barnard programs. The roles is responsible for answering questions, processing requests, and overseeing processes in partnership with Barnard departments including Payroll, HR, and Accounts Payable where appropriate. The Associate Director collaborates with the Director and other stakeholders across campus to ensure that programs, events and resources are executed in line with their stated purpose. The Associate Director provides individual advising on topics aligned with the employer relations, internship program, and other partnership initiatives supported by Beyond Barnard.
Job Description:
Duties & Responsibilities:
Determine programmatic strategic goals in collaboration with the Director and other stakeholders; design, plan, and implement events and programs associated with initiatives that are created in collaboration with a range of stakeholders (faculty, employers, philanthropic partners, etc.)
Provide oversight on the implementation of strategic objectives and goals for all internship programs and special initiatives.
Oversee existing portfolio of partnerships and employer relationships with organizations and individuals that recruit at Barnard and support the College through philanthropy.
Develop recruitment processes, programming calendars, and individual events for employers and other partner organizations in collaboration with the Director of Stakeholder Relations.
Create, manage, and implement application processes; plan and execute recruiting events and initiatives that advance specific recruiting aims of each program.
Serve on committees and oversight bodies for partnership and stakeholder-created initiatives as appropriate (including the SRI Committee, Laidlaw Scholars Committee, etc.)
Lead one-on-one and group advising appointments and programs both in the area of general career development, and for internship/special initiative applicants and participants, in collaboration with Beyond Barnard staff, cross-campus stakeholders, and external contributors, as appropriate.
In coordination with the Director of Stakeholder Relations, expand the number of employers and partners that recruit students and alumnae of Barnard College and contribute to Beyond Barnard initiatives; manage events that showcase opportunities and partnerships for student, alumnae, faculty, staff, and external audiences.
Serve as point of contact for internal and external partners (including internship hosts, employers, research entities, etc.); coordinate with the Director and Beyond Barnard leaders to develop a strategy for regular outreach to internal and external stakeholders.
Continually assess and improve onboarding, orientation, and day-to-day processes associated with stakeholder and partner-driven programs.
Manage budgets associated with internships and special initiatives.
Track and organize key performance indicators in support of program evaluation,.
Represent the College and Beyond Barnard at internal and external events and presentations.
Contribute to Beyond Barnard's mission of equitable and inclusive practice through programming and individual advising engagements.
Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Excellent written, public-speaking, and interpersonal skills.
Experience working one-on-one with students in an advising capacity.
Ability to manage a range of partnerships from across campus and organizations.
Ability to collaborate with internal faculty and staff stakeholders.
The ability to absorb detail and multitask is essential.
Diplomacy and the ability to work as a member of a fast-paced and evolving team is essential.
Understanding of the value of experiential learning opportunities in the workplace essential.
Qualifications:
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree
Professional experience in a higher education setting
Knowledge of best practices related to developing experiential education partnerships and programs is a plus.
Experience working with or for government, higher ed, and/or nonprofit organizations is a plus.
Salary: $70,000 annually
The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
