The USC Sol Price School of Public Policy is seeking a working professional with expertise and a primary position in legal and regulatory issues in health care. The successful candidate should possess a Juris Doctor (J.D.), a masters degree or doctorate in the field of law or a closely related field. The candidate will be able to teach graduate-level courses related to one or more of the following areas: fundamental principles of law that affect professionals engaged in the delivery, organization, or coverage of health care. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience and excellent teaching evaluations.
PPD 513: Legal Issues in Health Care Delivery
Course learning objectives include: developing executive level skills in identifying and dealing with legal issues in health care; securing a basic understanding of legal issues that impact health care organizations and learning when and how to involve legal counsel; experiencing how specific facts are applied to legal principals in order to identify and assess risks for health care organizations; understanding the dynamic nature of health law.
Adjunct instructor responsibilities include delivery of course content, scheduling office hours and being accessible to students as appropriate, and grading. Each instructor is expected to provide students with a syllabus outlining the course goals, schedule and all requirements for the course under the direction of the Department Chair.
The hourly rate range for this position is $29.06/hr. - $38.89/hr.
