AECT is looking for a creative, motivated and detail-oriented Digital Communications Manager to join our communications team. This individual will work directly with our Vice President & Chief Communications Officer to develop compelling visuals and content for AECT’s social media pages to grow the association’s presence and audience and provide support for all internal and external communications. The ideal candidate should have strong written and verbal communication skills, a deep understanding of social media strategy and analytics, and be able to express the association’s views creatively. A successful manager will earn opportunities to expand their skills and portfolio with additional communications specialties at the association.

This is an in-office position, expected to begin in July 2025.

The manager will be expected to:

• Produce on compelling graphics, video, layout and other visuals in support of AECT initiatives.
• Monitor social media and make recommendations.
• Develop monthly scheduled content on AECT’s platforms, including X, Facebook and LinkedIn, and others
• Support development of internal and external communications, such as PowerPoint presentations and collateral materials
• Collaborate with AECT to identify target audiences
• Provide input on overall communications strategy

The ideal candidate for this position is required to have the following:

• A Bachelor's degree in communications or related field from an accredited four-year college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Knowledge of multimedia communications management and content production
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to deliver creative content (text, graphics)

The ideal candidate is preferred to have the following:

• Experience using Canva, Photoshop or similar graphic application
• Social Media experience (1 to 2 years)
• Knowledge and familiarity with the Texas legislative process
• Experience using Hootsuite, TweetDeck or similar scheduling application
• Experience using Microsoft Office or similar document application
