Required Education:
4 Year Degree
The Finance Director plays a critical role in managing the financial operations of our organization. Reporting to the Executive Director this position is responsible for oversight of accounting and reporting, budgeting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have experience in nonprofit finance, including managing diverse funding sources.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and manage financial systems and controls to ensure sound fiscal management and efficient operations.
Oversee all day-to-day financial operations, including accounting, general ledger, A/R, A/P, payroll, and monthly reconciliations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for the Executive Director.
Oversee compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, federal/state grant requirements, and financial policies.
Manage the annual audit process and relationships with external accountants and auditors.
Develop and maintain internal financial policies and controls.
Provide fiscal support and reporting for government and private grants.
Manage relationships with banks, accountants, and vendors.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 1-3 years of progressive experience in nonprofit financial leadership.
Demonstrated experience managing budgets in a nonprofit or association environment.
Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting, fund accounting, and grant compliance.
Proficiency with accounting systems such as QuickBooks.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to clearly present financial information to non-financial audiences.
Proven ability to work independently and in a hybrid team environment
