GENERAL DUTIES
Conducts academic research in connection with CUNY programs; may assist faculty, staff, and students in conducting research and lead research efforts involving others.
Develops research plans and proposals and participates in acquiring funding
Collects, analyzes, and assures validity of data
Writes progress reports; writes and publishes findings
Collaborates with internal and external colleagues

ASRC seeks a Principal Research Scientist/Research Associate to join the ASRC's MRI facility. Reporting to the MRI Facility Director, the Principal Research Scientist/Research Associate is responsible for maintaining the MRI facility according to standard facility operating procedures and contributing to related research activities.
This position requires the incumbent to work in person.
Duties include but are not limitedto:
Works closely with the Facility Director on state-of-the-art technology upgrades to the facility, including but not limited to: x-nuclei magnetic resonance spectroscopy, real-time fMRI neurofeedback, whole body MRI, integration of multimodal recordings with MRI such as EEG, eye-tracking, physiological as well as non-invasive stimulation, i.e. electric and magnetic stimulation (TES, TMS), transcranial near infared radiation, focused ultrasound, etc.
Develops research plans and contributes to funding applications
Collects, processes, and analyzes neuroimaging data from research subjects
Writes and publishes findings
Manages local and cloud databases, assists user access to data storage and computational resources
Maintains, updates, and installs lab equipment, computers and software
Complies withpolicies andprocedures protecting research subjects' rights forinformed consent and the handling of confidential information as defined by the ASRC MRI Facility's rules and regulations
Contributes to the overall research goals and objectives of the MRI Facility research community
Performsother related dutiesasassigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Doctoral Degree in a related field and demonstrated research ability.
COMPENSATION
$90,375-$100,000/year. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
