Eide Bailly Executive Search has been retained by Bothwell Regional Health Center (BRHC) based in Sedalia, MO to recruit its next Chief Financial Officer (CFO).  Reporting to the chief executive officer, the CFO is the senior financial administrator for the organization.

BRHC is committed to provide exceptional, cost-effective, and compassionate health care to people in the communities the organization serves.  Located in west central Missouri in the beautiful and historic city of Sedalia, BRHC is a nonprofit, city-chartered health system that includes a 108-bed hospital and a comprehensive network of primary and specialty care practices.  The medical staff includes more than 100 medical providers in over 20 specialties.  Services include cancer care, dermatology, emergency services, orthopedics, cardiovascular care, neurology, neurodiagnostics, obstetrics and gynecology, osteopathic manipulative treatment, pediatrics, behavioral health, ENT, outpatient services, diagnostic imaging, medical equipment and community outreach and education.

As one of the area’s largest employers, BRHC has almost 900 team members and is the primary medical provider across four communities in Pettis and Benton counties. BRHC is accredited by The Joint Commission to include Acute Heart Attack Ready and Acute stroke Ready certifications.  In addition, the organization is designated as a Level III Missouri ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) Center, designated a Missouri Center for Patient Safety Organization, and Bothwell Health Center-Truman Lake, Bothwell TLC Pediatrics, Bothwell OB/GYN Associates, and Both Cole Camp Clinic have each received Exemplary Provider-accredited status by The Compliance Team.  BRHC, in partnership with the University of Missouri, launched a rural family medicine residency program in 2019, the first health system to do so in the state.  BRHC received high marks for Appropriate Care Measures, being in line with and sometimes leading when compared to other hospitals in Missouri and nationwide. 

Job Description

The CFO is responsible for the financial viability of BRHC and provides leadership, direction, and operational support to assigned departments to insure the accomplishment of the organization’s mission.  Also responsible for administrative supervision of Information Systems, Materials Management, Medical Records, Patient Financial Services, Financial operations (including budget, general accounting, and managed care contracting), and case management. 

The Community:

The City of Sedalia is in west-central Missouri giving residents and businesses easy access to Kansas City and the Lake of the Ozarks recreational area.  The community is home to the Missouri State Fair which brings nearly 400,000 visitors, hosts the annual Scott Joplin Festival one of the best-known composers of the ragtime era, and Sedalia Chamber Hot Air Balloon & Kite Festival.  In 2006, Sedalia was recognized as of Missouri’s DREAM initiative communities to redevelop and revitalize the historic downtown.  In 2007, Sedalia school district approved plans to renovate existing public schools while constructing a new, state-of-the-art high school.  State Fair Community college completed its Olen Howard Workforce Innovation Center in June 2022.  The pinnacle of the community working together was the opening of the Heckart Community Center in March 2022, a multi-purpose, state-of-the art facility for all ages.  Sedalia is a thriving, diverse community, home to both large and small businesses.  With over 70 manufacturing and industrial-related businesses, Sedalia serves as a hub of commerce for the greater region.  In addition, Whiteman Air Force Base, home to B-2 spirit bomber and approximately 5,600 military members in nearby. 

Education

      a.) Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.  CPA or Master’s degree highly desirable.

Work Experience

      a.) Ten years experience with increasing responsibilities in leadership in a hospital environment.  Experience in 3^rd party reimbursement issues, managed care contracting and financial analysis and forecasting.
