The Department of Government, Community & Economic Partnerships (GCE) is seeking a Grants Manager to create and implement a grants program tied to achieving the mission and vision of the Innovation Fund for Community Safety (Fund) including direction a robust grants program aimed at supporting innovative, community-led programs designed to curb violence.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
Grant Management
Maintain working knowledge of the Fund?s programs and priority funding areas and remain abreast of current research, activities, and trends in the philanthropic sector.
Monitor Fund grantees for financial and program compliance including ensuring grant requirements are correctly documented.
Manage the payment process and timeline to ensure that grantees are paid on time.
Monitor and document the grantmaking workflow processes, forms, templates, reports, and data to assure full compliance with internal controls and legal requirements.
Generate reports and data analysis for Fund leadership and Johns Hopkins University senior leadership.
Problem-solve complex grant scenarios; consult/liaise with finance and/or Fund leadership.
Create learning collaboratives for funded grantees providing best practices, challenges, exchange resources, and mentor and support to expand connections, ideas, and knowledge.
Provide technical assistance through training, in-services, and webinars to ensure the standardization of reporting of programs and activities for grantees.
Represent the Fund at external funder workgroups and committees including the Maryland Philanthropy Network and the Greater Baltimore Committee Corporate Funders Workgroup.
Grant Monitoring, Reporting, and Evaluation
Establish processes to capture, access, and use grantmaking information to enhance programmatic and operational decision-making.
Produce accurate reports of grantmaking results to effectively share with Fund leadership, Johns Hopkins University senior leadership and external partners.
Enhance grantee/grant seeker relationships and enable learning; enhance supporting systems and tools.
Demonstrate ability to interpret, communicate, and apply data to inform program planning and improvement.
Effective verbal, written, and presentation skills in describing program implementation, evaluation, and outcomes to stakeholder.
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Must have strong written communication skills, including demonstrated success in presenting to leadership and communicating to key stakeholders.
Must be detail oriented and be a strategic thinker in addition to having the ability to manage inception to completion and the ability to prioritize and synthesize information in an analytical and systematic manner.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor?s Degree in Business Administration, nonprofit management, or related field; five years of experience in grants or program management including grants monitoring.
Preferred Qualifications
Master?s Degree in in business administration, nonprofit management, or related field.
Must have seven years of professional work experience with deep knowledge or background in nonprofits or grantmaking and/or management systems.
