Randolph School is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Major Gifts Officer who will embody Randolph’s mission of seeking truth, building character, and nurturing all. Reporting to the Director of Development, the MGO will contribute to executing the successful completion of Randolph’s current Building Community capital campaign and grow a post-campaign philanthropic program to secure major and planned gifts from current parents, grandparents, alumni, parents of alumni, corporations, and other friends of the School. The MGO will work collaboratively with the campaign leadership team, key volunteers, and members of the advancement team.
Primary job responsibilities include:
Qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major and planned gift prospects to support the objectives and goals of Randolph School
Managing a portfolio of 125+ prospects capable of giving gifts of $25,000 and above to continue to build the school’s culture of philanthropy
Working with the campaign leadership team to create cultivation and proposal strategies, as well as update the team on new developments and opportunities
Developing comprehensive plans, including targets and projections based on strategic priorities, and regularly reporting progress toward goals to the Director of Development
Meeting with 17-20 individual donors and prospective donors per month in active cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
Coordinating with the Director of Annual Giving to help secure leadership annual gifts
Coordinating with the Director of Special Events to assist with planning cultivation and stewardship events or efforts
Coordinating with the Advancement Data Manager to ensure adherence to appropriate gift processing and tracking, donor acknowledgement, recognition, and reporting and analysis of gifts and donor records
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or advanced degree
Proven track record in major gifts fundraising of six- and seven-figure gifts
At least five years fundraising responsibility, preferably in major gifts
Experience in, or understanding of independent schools and/or nonprofit organizations
Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Familiarity with Veracross
A commitment to, and enthusiasm for, philanthropy and institutional development
