The Senior Director of Strategic Information Management is a pivotal role within Clark University's Advancement division, responsible for overseeing key advancement systems, ensuring seamless communication with financial operations, and providing strategic leadership for the Clark Advancement AI Lab. This role will lead a team of advancement services professionals, manage the relationship between advancement and finance, ensure compliance with reporting requirements, and oversee the university's advancement information systems.
Advancement Information Systems:
Oversee the management and optimization of advancement information systems, ensuring they support the university's strategic goals.
Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of new technologies to enhance data management and reporting capabilities.
Clark Advancement AI Lab:
Provide strategic oversight for the Clark Advancement AI Lab, guiding its efforts to leverage artificial intelligence and other innovative technologies to advance the university's fundraising and alumni engagement strategies.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify and implement AI-driven solutions that enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Team Leadership:
Manage and lead a team of three advancement services professionals, including the Director of Strategic Information Management.
Provide mentoring and professional development opportunities to foster team growth and maintain a high-performing environment.
Gift Processing and Data Management:
Oversee all aspects of gift processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with university policies and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with Financial Services to ensure seamless integration of gift data into the university's financial systems and maintain accurate reconciliation processes.
Financial Reporting:
Manage the preparation of regular financial reports for the Board of Trustees and other stakeholders, ensuring data integrity and clarity.
Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and regulations, and manage the relationship with Finance to facilitate accurate and timely reporting.
Strategic Planning and Implementation:
Contribute to the strategic planning process for University Advancement, aligning information management strategies with broader institutional goals.
Develop and implement policies and procedures that ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility across all advancement functions.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of five years of experience in advancement services, data management, or a related field, with at least three years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of gift processing, financial reporting, and compliance in a higher education or nonprofit setting.
Proven experience managing information systems and leading technology implementations.
Familiarity with AI applications in advancement or a similar field is a strong plus.
Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with external partners.
