The historic Florida Theatre in downtown Jacksonville, Florida, seeks a leader for its marketing, advertising and public relations activities. The 1,865 seat Florida Theatre serves the 12th largest city in America, and the greater Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia region. It is consistently ranked as one of the Top 5 most attended theatres in the country up to 2,000 seats by Pollstar magazine.
We seek an experienced marketing professional who enjoys their work, and derives fulfillment from the work we do to connect artists and audiences at exceptional live performances serving our community.
The marketing department supports 125-150 music, dance, theatre and arts education performances presented by the nonprofit Florida Theatre corporation annually. Marketing also supports the fundraising efforts of a development department raising $2 million annually. The Marketing Director supervises a $750,000 annual budget, not including personnel, and supervises three full time staff members plus outside designers.
Candidates should demonstrate broad experience with all aspects of arts and entertainment marketing, including print, broadcast and digital advertising; organic social media on all platforms; press and public relations; direct mail; branding; graphic design; and street level promotion. Candidates should demonstrate a high level of expertise in one or more of these areas, and competency in the others. Or particular interest to us are candidates who have managed the work flow of a team of people running multiple campaigns simultaneously, and who have digital advertising experience.
This position is part of a 7-member Senior Staff reporting to the President. It is a full-time position classified as exempt. It is a hands-on position; occasional nights and weekends are required.
