HR Source is in search of a full-time Membership Development Specialist to join our team. In this role, you’ll be responsible for recruiting companies and organizations to join our association to ensure a growing and thriving membership.
Who are we? HR Source is a Chicago-based trade association, located in the western suburbs, serving more than 1,200 companies and organizations in their role as employers. The association provides comprehensive resources, support, and services to help organizations make confident human resources decisions and apply effective workforce practices.

Where are we? Our headquarters is located in Downers Grove, Illinois and the position requires frequent travel in northern Illinois and occasionally throughout the state. Our team currently enjoys a hybrid work schedule and collaborates in the office one day each week.
What are the job duties?
Develop and target prospective members through research, networking, and direct outbound contacts.
Plan and implement targeted recruitment campaigns to meet the association’s annual membership and financial goals.
Schedule and conduct virtual and in-person appointments with prospective members, coordinate appropriate follow-up, and document interactions in our tracking system.
Engage prospective, new, and existing members to determine their business goals and product needs, actively marketing association products and services.
Represent the association in the business community by participating in various trade shows, conferences, and networking events.
Develop and support membership retention strategies and nurture existing member relationships.
Assist in the development and delivery of collateral material necessary to encourage membership recruitment, retention, and product sales.
Develop, manage, and track necessary budgets.
What are the job requirements?
A bachelor’s degree with experience in business development, fundraising, sales, membership development or equivalent.
A minimum of two years of experience in a related position.
Excellent interpersonal communication; clear verbal and written expression; the ability to interact with a diverse array of members in an approachable, professional manner.
The ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously. Our ideal candidate will be well organized and detail oriented.
Competence and comfort in building relationships and influencing stakeholders.
Confidence speaking to large groups.
