The Asheboro/Randolph Chamber of Commerce is seeking a president who will build a dynamic and progressive Chamber that will expand on and initiate programs and services that will support the needs of an evolving community. The following skills and characteristics are required:

Communications: verbal, written and listening skills. Ability to communicate with a wide variety of audiences.
Demonstrated success in fundraising
Ability to gather and broker information to build consensus
Financial/management/business experience
Track record of measurable outcome success
Leadership skills including previous experience in garnering and motivating volunteers
Flexible schedule
Salary range: $75,000 and up; salary will be commensurate with experience. In addition to salary, a robust benefits package including retirement, vacation and flexible work schedule, and insurance is provided.

Position Summary
The President assumes the role of Chief Executive Officer within our organization, appointed by and accountable to the Board of Directors. This executive position bears overarching responsibility for the complete and unequivocal success of the Asheboro/Randolph Chamber of Commerce and Chamber Foundation. The President is entrusted with the vital task of guiding the organization in strict adherence to the established policies, procedures, and bylaws of the Chamber. Furthermore, the President is charged with the proficient management of all resources at our disposal, including both staff and volunteer efforts. These resources must be expertly deployed to align with the mission of the organization and to advance the growth and prosperity of our esteemed membership base.
The President's purview encompasses a comprehensive range of responsibilities related to the Chamber and Chamber Foundation. These encompass but are not limited to: the formulation and execution of an annual budget; the financial scrutiny of income and expenditures; the development and orchestration of programs and events; the design and optimization of the organizational structure and procedures; the maintenance and expansion of our membership; the recruitment, training, mentoring, and supervision of staff; the accurate interpretation of policy; the diligent exercise of fiduciary responsibility; the formulation of long-term strategies; and the demonstration of unwavering leadership through active involvement and participation.
Responsibilities and Duties
Work closely with the Chamber’s Vice President/Finance and Operations and the Chamber Board Treasurer to develop and implement an annual budget that is balanced and aligns with the Chamber's mission.
Foster productive relationships with influential community leaders and harness volunteers to ensure the realization of the annual work plan. Analyze member needs and propose program adjustments to enhance the value of membership.
Cultivate relationships with elected officials at the state, federal, city, and county levels to advocate for community and Chamber member needs. Assess issues and trends to identify opportunities and challenges for local businesses and recommend responsive actions.
Exhibit leadership within the community by participating actively and continually striving to enhance public understanding of the Chamber's purpose, functions, and significance. Collaborate with the Board Chair and other officers to represent the Chamber at local, regional, state, and national events, as well as in interactions with the media.
Oversee and manage the organization's financial resources. Prepare the annual operating budget encompassing all Chamber and Chamber Foundation activities. Manage the budget, ensure financial records adhere to the bylaws and undergo the necessary reviews and audits.
Supervise the Membership & Events staff, providing leadership and support to drive growth in both membership and program/event revenues. Ensure that programs and events are executed with professionalism and high quality.
Oversee the Finance and Operations staff, offering guidance for effective management of the Chamber's fiscal and physical resources, alongside thorough reporting. Maintain comprehensive records of all transactions and correspondence, available for review by auditors, the Board, or other relevant authorities.
Collaborate closely with the Board and Executive Committee, offering insights and guidance as needed.
Collaborate with the leadership from other area Chambers of Commerce.
Direct all communications to members and the public, as well as shape all marketing messages.
Act as the official administrative representative and spokesperson for the Chamber in suitable situations and contexts.
Actively engage in Chamber activities to promote and strengthen the Chamber's image and relations with all community groups and stakeholders.
Jointly coordinate the Chamber's Annual Retreat with the Chair-Elect.
Have the ability to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends in conjunction with other Chamber staff as needed.
Willing to be actively engaged and involved in Randolph County community activities and organizations.
Experience working in a nonprofit or public sector organization would be a plus.
Experience, education, and qualifications will be equally considered.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
