A local trade association in Austin is seeking a Membership Coordinator. The Membership Coordinator is responsible for helping to grow, maintain and communicate with members and a network of professionals and industry leaders. The coordinator is responsible for managing the association’s membership database. This position reports to the Executive Director and works closely with the Education & Professional Development Coordinator. This description is meant to give you an overview of the responsibilities and duties of this position. It is not all-inclusive.

AMS YourMembership (YM) database experience is desired.

Have experience in association membership, membership database organization, and report building, and maintain and sharpen membership outreach tools already in place.
Duties Related to Membership COORDINATOR: To enhance the overall member experience and grow the membership benefits the coordinator will:
Serve as the point of contact for our area chapter presidents, and membership committee. Prepare annual membership billing to go out in a professional and timely manner. Ensure member profile information is current. • Maintain and develop reports to disburse to various aspects of members. • Maintain and keep stocked in-house merchandise sold on the website. • Travel as needed to attend sponsored events.
In conjunction with the TSPS staff, help develop, manage, organize, and execute membership school career days and membership drive events. • Set up event registration in our database for publication on our website. • Manage/Monitor event registrations. • Manage and perform office administrative duties. • Attend Quarterly TSPS Board Meetings • Assist with convention tasks as assigned by the Executive Director. • Attend the Annual Convention. • Provide support for the day-to-day membership inquiries.

Qualifications and Requirements: • Prior experience working with professional/trade associations/non-profits • Prior experience with web-based Association Management Software (AMS) or client database management. • YourMembership association management software is preferred. • Willing to train the right (good-fit) person.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills are required.
Skills in operating standard computer and software applications including, but not limited to: Electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentations.
Experience in using association computerized Association Management Software (AMS) preferably YourMembership (YM)

The Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (TSPS) is a nonprofit organization for Professional Land Surveyors, incorporated under the laws of Texas. TSPS has 23 local chapters statewide and has over 1,600 members. TSPS provides aid and contributes to the education of its members and the general public in attaining high surveying standards, both technical and ethical; and to provide a central headquarters and closer association of its members.
