Job Description
SENIOR DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANT, OFFICE OF PHILANTHROPIC PARTNERSHIPS (OPP), Resource Development, to provide the executive director of Philanthropic Partnerships with high-level administrative support and project management--including events--while representing them to both internal and external constituents.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; five years' administrative, office, or related experience, preferably supporting a high-level executive; excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong command of the English language, spelling, punctuation, and grammar; experience with event management; excellent planning, problem-solving, time-management, decision-making, interpersonal, and collaboration skills; discretion and sound judgment with confidential information; meticulous attention to detail; flexibility; initiative; proficiency with technology, especially that used for communication and project management; and experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Must be able to multitask, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines without compromising quality in a demanding, high-volume work environment; effectively organize oneself and others; anticipate consequences of actions, potential problems, or opportunities for change; work independently and collaborate as a team member who is willing to lend a hand at all times; and promote and foster a highly professional and welcoming office environment for MIT's many internal and external audiences. PREFERRED: project coordination experience, experience with Adobe Creative Suite in a professional setting, familiarity with FileMaker Pro, bachelor's degree, experience in a higher education or nonprofit environment. Must be able and willing to work occasional nights and weekends.
This position will be hybrid, with a combination of on-campus and remote work.
