The Dietrich College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University is seeking an innovative, energetic, and student-centered Coordinator of Experiential Learning to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Experiential Learning, the Coordinator of Experiential Learning will be responsible for administration of the Pittsburgh Summer Internship Program for Dietrich students as well as other internship and community engagement programs. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to an interesting and exciting work environment.
Your core responsibilities include:
Coordinate the Pittsburgh Summer Internship Program including, but not limited to recruiting and selecting nonprofits and start-up organizations in the Pittsburgh community; managing the PSIP student application process; overseeing the funding process for students participating in PSIP and the collection of Host Site Program fees; and planning opportunities for PSIP students to engage in activities that promote an appreciation for the Pittsburgh area.
Promote and communicate opportunities for experiential learning to Dietrich College students, including internships, community engaged learning and undergraduate research
Promote and coordinate opportunities for students to request funding for low or unpaid internships
Coordinate regular professional development workshops during the summer for students engaging in experiential learning opportunities in collaboration with campus partners
Host events and design workshops throughout the year for students in the college to explore and reflect on the connections they have made or would like to make between their curricular and co-curricular experiences through experiential learning
Assist the Director of Experiential Learning with assessing student engagement with experiential learning
Meet with students in an advisory capacity to support their experiential learning goals, including helping them to understand options available and resources for securing these opportunities
Assist with college-wide events and workshops that promote student involvement in experiential learning opportunities including but not limited to the annual Under Construction: Internships event, Dietrich College Orientation Resource Fair, Family Weekend event, April Yield and others that will be newly established
Collaborate with campus partners, including Student Affairs (Career and Professional Development Center, Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholar Development, etc.) and the other colleges and units, as appropriate
Serve on university and college-wide committees as appropriate

Qualifications
Associate's degree required or an equivalent level of education and experience, Bachelor's degree preferred.
1-3 years of relevant experience required
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends
Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders
Excellent organization, attention to detail and planning skills
Commitment to equity-focused practices

This position is currently a fixed term position with funding in place through June 30, 2026. Additional program funding to support this position is anticipated for future fiscal years.
