The Association of Texas Professional Educators, Texas' largest professional association for public school employees, seeks experienced, goal-driven, service oriented, dynamic professionals for our Membership Specialist I position for the following area:
West Texas
The Membership Specialist I responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Serve as the primary field staff focused on recruiting and retaining association members in the territory assigned. Monitor the activity indicators of active local units using various reports. Identify and proactively assist local units in recruiting new members.
Initiate contact with non-members, school campus and independent school districts personnel, and others, in assigned ISDs with no active local unit to prospect and promote interest in organizing prospective local units.
Work with internal association support staff to outline annual metrics and incentive-based numerical goals related to recruitment and retention of members.
Work with assigned active local volunteers to identify and train new volunteer leaders who will represent the association at the local district level.
Additionally, the Membership Specialist I may provide organizational support to assigned local units in the areas of communication, school board relations, and general local unit operational logistics.

Minimum requirements include a college degree along with proven association membership growth and retainment experience; superior communication, presentation & organizational skills; and, excellent PC skills (Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook). The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge of Texas education issues; will be detail oriented with a strong work ethic and will be flexible and comfortable with shifting priorities. The position requires extensive travel within the territory and the ability to home office. The Membership Specialist I position will be based within the designated territories.
