Wyoming Medical Center (WMC) is a nonprofit, 200-bed acute care hospital. It is the flagship hospital for Banner Health in in the heart of Wyoming, serving 11 counties and 19 communities with a population of 250,000. WMC is a regional Level II trauma and referral center offering care in 59 specialties.
The Wyoming Medical Center (WYMC) post graduate year one (PGY1) pharmacy residency builds on the Doctorate of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes. The WYMC residency contributes to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for optimizing patient outcomes through interdisciplinary medication management for a variety of medical conditions. Successful residency graduates are eligible for board certification and PGY2 pharmacy residency training.
Residents will have the opportunity to participate in interdisciplinary patient-centered care in the areas of internal medicine, critical care, emergency medicine services, and infectious disease. In addition, residents will be required to participate in ongoing service activities to develop problem solving and collaboration skills, and be exposed to pharmacy department policy and procedures by staffing in the central pharmacy.
