Overview
Reporting to the Vice President for Advancement and serving as a member of the Presidentâ™s Cabinet, the Deputy Vice President for Alumni Engagement (DVPAE) is a member of the University Advancement senior leadership team with responsibility for the oversight of the operation of the Office of Alumni Engagement.
The DVPAE collaborates internally to set priorities and devise strategies for meeting University-wide objectives, ensures that the Office of Alumni Engagement's management team is effective and maximizing resources to mobilize a talented staff in engaging an extraordinarily loyal and diverse group of alumni. They also balance ambitious goal-setting and resources within an operation that supports both group achievement and individual development. The DVPAE oversees and leads efforts to engage the Universityâ™s alumni and stakeholders through print and digital communications, events, and outreach efforts on campus, throughout the country, and outside the United States.
The successful candidate has a track record of working at a complex and dynamic institution, adheres to best practices in alumni engagement and programming, is an excellent communicator and manager, has exceptional judgment and possesses a passion for liberal arts education.

Responsibilities
Responsitibilities:
Serve as a senior ambassador to Princetonâ™s loyal and engaged alumni community.
Provide overall leadership and management of the Office of Alumni Engagement and the implementation of the officeâ™s various programs, events, and initiatives to engage alumni in the life of the University.
Provide leadership and oversight of an integrated and coordinated strategy focused on informing, engaging, and inspiring Princeton's alumni to marshal their various talents and generosity in service to the University and its mission.
Work with the Vice President and colleagues on the University Advancement senior leadership team to determine organization-wide long-and short-term strategic goal setting and establish a focus on priorities and driving organizational objectives.
Serve as the senior staff liaison to the Alumni Council Executive Committee, working closely with the chair and officers of the Alumni Council to set direction and strategic planning.
Develop, lead, mentor and motivate a high-quality team prepared to meet the ongoing challenges of engaging a diverse and talented community of alumni. Assess current staff capacity and recruit new staff as necessary.
Serve as Secretary to the Trustees Committee on Alumni Engagement.
Serve on the board of the Princeton Alumni Weekly.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Ability to work after hours and weekends, and to travel both domestically and abroad, is essential.
