The CCCU DC Headquarters is open 5 days a week. Staff can work up to 2 days remotely with approval of their supervisor. Candidates must be able to work effectively in both an in-person and virtual environment. CCCU employees are required to adhere and agree to follow certain guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe and healthy environment. Vaccinations are strongly encouraged (but not mandated).
The Job Overview:
The Communications Coordinator will work with the marketing and communications team to manage the company's brand reputation. Duties including overseeing marketing materials, coordinating marketing and public relations campaigns, and tracking data. The qualified candidate will assist in communicating the value and positive message of Christian higher education. . This is a full-time position based in our Washington, DC headquarters with hybrid in-office/remote possibilities.
Essential Functions of the role: Writing Responsibilities
Draft press/news releases and other communication deliverables
Assist with compiling & sending emails, to networking and peer groups on member campuses (can be in relation to topical webinars, grant opportunities, conferences and events, and/or sponsored email blasts)
Assistance (and eventual oversight) of monthly CCCU newsletters and updates
Primary writer for conference scripting
Copy-edit review monthly newsletters, conference programs, brochures and literature for student programs, government relations, and development and membership office.
Assist with storyline/scripting needs for new CCCU video projects
Serve as proofreader as needed for all internal and external materials.
Social Media Responsibilities:
Assist with drafting social media posts (included but not limited to) feature job posts from CCCU Career Center, Advance Magazine, features campaigns, and more)
Assist Director of Marketing in researching and monitoring the organization's three main social media accounts (Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn)
Website Maintenance:
Website maintenance (including but not limited to press/news release uploads, conference and events tiles & pages, programs & services updates, etc.)
Manage basic daily content edits & updates for the organization’s four websites (hosted on WordPress): www.cccu.org, www.cccuglobaled.org, diversity.cccu.org, and journeytodistinction.com.
Collaborate on marketing and strategic communications campaigns for the CCCU.
Manage organizational contact lists in MailChimp.
Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Bachelors’ degree in communication (or related field); English, or major with strong writing components
1-2 years of experience.
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of Cision, Adobe Creative Suite and presentation software
Strong copy-editing skills
Ability to research and draft summary press releases for digital posting and pitching
Ability to research marketing and communication industry higher education trends, including staying informed of news and current events
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to collaborate with a team on projects but also work independently
Ability to draft and edit digital communications, including newsletters and branded content
Competitive Total Compensation Package:
The hiring range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000
The CCCU covers 100% of the cost of employee Health, Dental and Vision. Dependents and Spouses are covered at approximately 50%.
