FINANCIAL COMPLIANCE ADMINISTRATOR, Office of the Vice President for Finance (VPF), to identify financial internal control risks and trends that enable enable enable department, lab, or center (DLC) managers and Institute leadership to make informed decisions. Develop financial analysis and reporting for monitoring transactions in key financial risk areas. Identify outliers, trends, or other anomalies and then designing procedures to investigate such findings. Determine requirements for analytical dashboards and work with internal and external technical support teams to implement monitoring tools. Communicate and escalate findings as necessary, which includes alerting other departments of findings and reinforcing training opportunities.
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting, business, or finance; four years' financial operations experience, including accounting and account reconciliation; knowledge of accounting principles and relevant federal regulations for specialty areas, including those specific to research and nonprofit organizations; comprehensive knowledge of financial and internal control concepts and analysis integrating multiple pieces of financial information to identify themes, trends, and issues; ability to develop and manage the execution of response plans; experience analyzing internal controls and procedures related to financial processes; audit experience; ability to assess and identify risks and fraud within a process and to design and help implement effective processes or controls responsive to identified risks or fraud; experience executing procedures to investigate potential areas of risk within an organization; excellent analytical, problem-solving, and written and verbal communication skills; ability to handle multiple priorities and ensure timely follow through; attention to detail; and proficiency with Word and Excel. PREFERRED: CPA; experience with AppZen travel and expense audit platforms; and knowledge of SAP, BrioQuery, and Cognos; and experience at MIT or in higher education. Job #22607-8
