Position Summary:
The Department of Family Medicine is seeking a Project Staff Assistant, who will assist in the successful completion of New York State AHEC System health workforce development projects via programmatic outreach, advocacy, and support services, as well as serve as the direct support role for both the Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) and Continuing Education Workshops and Trainings facilitated through the NYSAHECSystem Statewide Office, as well as serve as back-up support as needed for the FARE grant, and any other grants/programs as assigned and needed.
Specifically, this role will:
Support with the development and creation of RCORP/FARE correspondence/materials as needed.
Assist and follow-up with student recruitment for enrollment in certified credentialed training through funding provided from the statewide office.
Assist with AHEC Scholars Program follow-up on deliverables and objectives as assigned and needed.
Assist with the development and coordination of all CE – Continuing Education workshops and trainings facilitated by the statewide office.
Prepare all printed materials/correspondence/flyers of all CE – Continuing Education Workshops and trainings to bolster advertisement/awareness for participant enrollment.
Develop an Outreach Calendar of activities for the NYSAHEC System Statewide Office.
Facilitate outreach activities (i.e. presentations, community events, job fairs, health fairs, etc.) to promote brand awareness and potential collaboration opportunities for the NYSAHEC System.
As assigned assist with composing a wide range of documents to support program and brand awareness, including press releases and news articles to highlight new funding streams, program events and activities, PSAs on community public access media outlets & community newspapers, as well as printed materials including newsletters and other communications.
Build and maintain effective relationships with community partners/stakeholders (i.e. state officials and staff members, representatives of appropriate state agencies, & state associations and organizations) regarding NYSAHEC System programs, activities and policy priorities.
Prepare all written minutes/notes of statewide meetings, recording minutes for executive council, advisory board, and statewide office meetings.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Management, Education, Communications or Marketing degree, Public Health or related field. A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of the degree requirement.
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
Outstanding written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, including public speaking, public relations and ability to facilitate informational sessions.
Excellent people skills including an ability to work with all levels of staff including entry level administrative assistants, AHEC Center Directors and large nonprofit Executives.
Ability to work with a diverse constituency including academic students and faculty, centers and regional offices, community partners, funders and government officials.
