Position Summary
The Campaign Initiatives & Engagement team focuses on planning and execution of fundraising efforts in support of the Washington Universityâ™s mission and greatest priorities. Reporting directly to the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Campaign Initiatives & Engagement (CI&E), this position is responsible for creating and editing presentations, talking points, and other content related to comprehensive campaigns and special university fundraising initiatives, including Make Way: Our Student Initiative. This person will ensure that all communications conform to university graphic and style standards and meet the highest level of excellence.
This experienced professional will build strategic partnerships and influence with colleagues across University Advancement, other university departments, and leadership volunteers to gain a deep understanding of how Campaign Initiatives & Engagement and University Advancement can successfully plan and execute the next comprehensive campaign.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Serve as an expert on university fundraising priorities, including all aspects of Make Way and the forthcoming comprehensive campaign. This expertise will be put into practice through the delivery of creative and dynamic presentations, talking points, and other materials for internal and external audiences about the universityâ™s mission, goals, and fundraising priorities.
With the Assistant Vice Chancellor for CI&E, leaders from the university and University Advancement, plan and execute an engagement and education plan for a Board of Trustees committee that will focus on planning and executing the universityâ™s next comprehensive campaign.
Conduct research and benchmark new ideas and practices around campaign management to inform recommended strategies to benefit Washington University. Responsible for collaborating with CI&E team and other partners to design and implement these practices.

Preferred Qualifications
Proven track record of effectively working and leading in a large, complex, dynamic and sophisticated organization.
Experience collaborating with internal partners on projects.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure, juggle competing priorities, manage projects, organize time and identify resources for projects.
Intellectual curiosity and ability to think strategically, be creative, and effectively plan and implement high quality programs.
Major gift fundraising experience.
Prior experience in advancement within the higher education or the nonprofit sector.
Extensive knowledge of comprehensive fundraising campaigns, volunteer engagement, and fundraising.
Experience preparing PowerPoint presentations, talking points, and other materials for various audiences.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Clearly conveys information in a way that is accurate, engaging, reflects the audience, and helps others understand and retain the information.
Ability to set a vision and to influence and inspire others to action, as well as a willingness to dig in and understand the work being done at a more granular level.
Well-developed project management skills, including experience initiating and implementing a new presentation, program, or project.
Wide-ranging knowledge of academic units, current affairs in higher education, and research, as well as genuine interest in the ongoing affairs at the university.
Commitment to fostering collaboration and teamwork, as well as ability to gain cooperation among diverse groups in order to achieve desired outcomes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelorâ™s degree.
Minimum of five years of related experience.

Salary Range
$77,700.00 - $136,700.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
