Atrium Health Navicent The Medical Center is a 637-bed not-for-profit, community-teaching hospital with a Level 1 Trauma Center and a Level-3 Neonatal Intensive Care, located in Macon, GA. The Medical Center is affiliated with Atrium Health, a nonprofit health system based out of North Carolina with more than 70,000 teammates serving patients at 38 hospitals in NC and GA. Completion of a Pharmacy Practice Project is required.
Research is approved in conjunction with Wake Forest IRB.
We currently utilize the “Flip” project model where incoming residents complete a project started by the prior resident during the first part of the year. Residents initiate a new major project during the second half of the year to be completed by a resident during the following year.
Presentation of major project at Southeastern Residency Conference and development of formal manuscript.

AHN The Medical Center has over 4,500 employees and a medical staff of approximately 700 physicians. Among the largest hospitals in Georgia, it is licensed for 637 beds, including pediatrics, medical surgical, trauma and cardiac surgery. The Emergency Center, with helipad capability and three urgent care centers, treats over 140,000 visitors per year.
AHN The Medical Center provides a broad range of community-based outpatient diagnostic, primary care, wellness and comprehensive rehabilitation services. It is the primary academic hospital for Mercer University School of Medicine, providing residency and fellowship programs for over 100 residents and is affiliated with multiple universities as a clinical education site. AHN also operates multiple primary care offices where practitioners provide a variety of outpatient services.
