We have an exciting Career Development Manager opportunity who will work with members on their journey from student to early career professional while developing opportunities for the FICPA to advance, connect, and support them through each stage within their career. This includes managing programs and initiatives and outreach efforts that recruit college students. This position will rethink the current student membership model to create professional pathways by supporting the transition and conversion from student member to CPA candidate and regular member.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage Student Outreach and engagement through campus visits in collaboration with the Academic Manager.
Create and develop young professional programming initiatives in collaboration with the FICPA Scholarship Foundation to increase value for members/scholars and enhance revenue opportunities for both organizations.
Work in close collaboration with the Marketing Department on campaigns to retain young adults and highlight young professional member testimonials and success stories.
Guides students on issues related to student members to assist in the transition to professional member through engagement opportunities.
Provide staff support in the diversity and inclusion initiatives of the FICPA, including programs at the emerging professional level.
Act as Staff Liaison for the FICPA Diversity and Inclusion Task Force/Committee, Women in Leadership Committee and Young CPA (YCPA) Committee.
Manage the strategy for young professionals by engaging them in events and initiatives supporting the CPA profession.
Oversee the Institute’s programming surrounding job boards, career fairs (in-person and virtual), and other ways to connect member firms/organizations to qualified job applicants while meeting or exceeding associated sponsorship revenue targets.
Work collaboratively with Regional Directors of Membership to provide oversight and assistance to localized YCPA groups and FICPA chapters in the development of events, including networking opportunities, alignment on initiatives, social activities and leadership training. Attend events as necessary.
Other duties needed to help drive the vision of the FICPA and Scholarship Foundation, fulfill our mission and abide by our organizations’ core values.
Experience and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
More than four years of membership association, not for profit, college student outreach and career assistance, or related professional experience preferred.
Ability to travel within the state of Florida (30% annually).
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Experience with managing projects and events, scholarship programs, and volunteers.
Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skill - conversational and business professional.
Essential Physical Skills:
Must have manual dexterity to perform specific computer and electronic/mobile device functions for data collection, and use a keyboard/computer, printer, fax, copier.
Able to receive and act on detailed information through oral & written communication. Apply finger dexterity, sufficient corrected or uncorrected vision, hearing, oral communication & critical thinking on a regular basis to carry out all duties and responsibilities.
Requires long periods of sitting, working on the computer, and using electronic telephone devices. but also standing and walking during a standard workday.
Ability to travel via car to attend events.
May also require occasional lifting and carrying of up to 10 pounds.
Must be able to work in the primary workplace location to ensure appropriate cooperation and collaboration with coworkers in an in-person capacity to best ensure support to the Association’s membership.
