The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is the world’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals and is seeking a full-time Manager, Affiliate Relations to guide and manage Affiliate Boards of Directors in the development and execution of programs, projects and member benefits in the Affiliate programs. This position is critical to the Academy and its Affiliate programs, and has a direct influence on member engagement, satisfaction and revenue growth.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate and guide the direction of the activities and programs of work for specific Affiliates in conjunction with the Affiliate Board and internal Affiliate Team. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to:
Reviewing and analyzing all affiliate projects for policy, legal, financial and procedural impact
Negotiating and resolving conflicts
Reviewing contracts with industry partners and vendors
Managing a full range of ongoing projects related to budgeting, financial audits, publications editing and negotiating auxiliary services.
Engage with and support member inquiries
Serve in an executive administrative role.
Manage projects and serve as logistical and operational lead to volunteer leaders in executing programs.
Organize and prioritize member and volunteer leader issues/topics, develop plans utilizing strategic planning and track pertinent information and guidelines.
Develop and contribute to Affiliate leader resources.
Oversee special Affiliate projects as needed and leverage technology to assist Affiliates in achieving goals
Collaborate with other internal teams and groups on an as needed basis.
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
3-5 years of relevant job experience required. Ideal candidate will have experience working as an Executive Administrator, Association Manager, Volunteer or Project Manager from an association or non-profit or working with an Association Management Company.
Demonstrated understanding of professional association environments and general business practices with a customer service/member first approach.
Good listening skills and the ability to lead, motivate and instill confidence in Affiliate volunteer leaders.
Strong communication, leadership and judgement skills, demonstrated change management skills and the ability to instill trust and confidence in others are necessary
