Position Summary
The Member Engagement Specialist is responsible for membership recruitment, retention, and engagement, and administers current and new member benefits.
Examples of Duties & Responsibilities
Serve as the first contact for members of the association and act as primary customer service provider.
Track and analyze membership and professional trends, needs, and participation to recruit, retain, and engage members.
Develop short- and long-term member recruitment and retention plans and strategies to expand and engage members.
Identify, recommend, and develop new benefits and services to ensure value to members. Regularly review existing benefits to ensure continued value to members.
Oversee the initial and renewal membership process.
Maintain membership records and database.
Support local chapter activities and provide services to local chapters to enhance member engagement.
Coordinate the exhibit and sponsorship program.
Serve as staff liaison to assigned Councils, Committees, Sections, and/or Task Forces. Attend meetings and conference calls, prepare agendas, and distribute minutes, and coordinate activities.

Travel
The employee must be willing to travel to the TSHP Annual Seminar (usually 5-7 days). In addition, the employee must be willing to travel for any additional meetings as requested (usually 2-3 times per year, 2-3 days per trip).
Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience
Three or more years of experience in membership recruitment and retention.
Database experience a plus. (YourMembership preferred)
Association experience a plus.
Demonstration of Skills and Abilities
Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience supporting and engaging members.
Ability to identify key member and potential member needs.
Experience developing and evaluating member benefits and services.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
