Northwestern University is seeking a temporary Full-time Program Development Assistant, Global Health for the Evanston campus.
Temporary Job Description:
The Temporary Development Assistant will support the development team coordinating the 15th Annual Robert J. Havey, MD Institute for Global Health Event, a fundraising event raising over $2 million annually. Working closely with the institute’s development team, this position will manage registration and giving lists, maintain computer records tracking donor and prospect information and interactions, and generate correspondence, reports, and other digital and printed materials. Responsibilities will include:
- Tracking daily event registrations and gifts in coordination with the development team with close attention to detail and attendee confidentiality
- Coordinating donor email and PDF thank you letters and facilitating follow-up calls as needed
- Working with the development team to prepare invitation, rsvp, and follow-up email and mailing lists
- Tracking and updating biographical information in the constituent database from gifts as well as mail, phone, and email event registrations
- Proofreading event materials and donor correspondence
- Pulling registration and giving reports pre- and post-event
- Assisting in execution of the event the evening of September 21, 2022
- Working closely with other Development, Alumni Relations, and Special Events staff to ensure smooth execution of the event
- Proactively communicating with the global health development team on a daily basis
- Other duties as assigned relating to the event
Qualifications Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years administrative support or other relevant experience
- Proficiency with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), specifically: Creation, manipulation, and management of advanced Excel spreadsheets, mail merges, and database entry and queries
- Demonstrated abilities are required in the following areas:
- Verbal/face-to-face, as well as written communication
- Organization/time management in a fast-paced environment
- Data management with large datasets
Qualifications Preferred:
- Experience communicating with many different constituents (volunteers, donors, staff, etc.)
- Experience working in a nonprofit/philanthropic fundraising or constituent engagement environment
- Experience with data entry and retrieval in a complex constituent management database
- iModules experience
Software Required:
MS Office suite 2013 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
