Summary:Provides financial, administrative and clerical support to the organization under the direction of the Senior Director, Financial Accounting. Duties include completing payments and control expenses by receiving payments, processing, and verifying/reconciling invoices.
Ensure that all requests requiring disbursements of ASTHO's funds are adequately supported and accurate, and approved for payment in compliance with ASTHO's policies and procedures
Ensures Financial Accounting Policies and Processes are met while processing requests
Participates in ad hoc audit requests
Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
Review and verification of reimbursement calculations
Verify expense reports for valid approval and coding
Perform accounts payable data entry to the accounting system
Assist in the maintenance and preparation of 1099s vendors (may include year-end processing)
Assist with AR billings/invoices & payments
Process Journal entries for daily activity
Backs up other accounting functions as needed
Performs analyses using business management software and Microsoft Office tools
Assists with payroll and benefits functions
Bachelor???s degree in Finance or Accounting; Graduate degree a plus.
3+ years of experience of previous AP/AR experience and understanding of accounting principles and processes
Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL Project Setup and/or JAMIS Prime is preferred
Advanced MS Excel skills (advanced formulas, functions V-LOOKUP and pivot tables), familiarity with SQL Server and database reporting.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Financial data analysis, including the ability to analyze data, identify trends, generate reports, data merging and supplemental data sources using automated reporting applications
Knowledge of regulations applicable to non-profit organizations preferred but not required.
