This position is generally scheduled Monday-Friday, with some flexibility in the daily start time between 9 and 11 am.
Responsible for receiving all specimens coming to the laboratory.
Responsible for contacting appropriate personnel if specimens do not arrive.
Responsible for storage of specimens upon arrival as well as distribution to appropriate technician(s).
Responsible for packaging and shipping specimens from the laboratory to outside sites in accordance with regulations.
Responsible for inventory tracking using Labware LIMIS system and working with System programmers to maintain the inventory database.
Monitor specimen volumes and number of vials for technicians to assist with project planning and time management.
Act as a contact for questions regarding specimen location, storage, and tracking.
Responsible for the organization of specimen inventory in short-term and long-term storage.
Maintain a database used for organizing the current inventory and tracking the location of specific information/specimens using Labware LIMS system
Work with the Programmatic and Divisional freezer coordinator to coordinate activities and projects.
Manage Repository equipment maintenance
Create, develop, and maintain repository SOPs
On-call to respond to freezer alarm notification from Facilities Engineering
Provide support for procurement of laboratory supplies
H.S. diploma or equivalent.
General computer/data entry experience required. BA/BS STRONGLY preferred.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Experience working with LN2 and ultralow freezers will be given preference.
Completion of IATA shipping certification is required during the first six months.
