The Community Manager will serve as a highly visible force multiplier through a combination of community organizing, engagement, facilitation, and event planning (i,e. workshops, hackathons, forums, etc.). Exceptional communication skills and relationship-building skills will be crucial in this individual's role as they drive community-led change. Day-to-day activities may include facilitating conversations, developing engaging content, and conducting select training sessions to drive the enterprise towards a culture of data-informed decision-making.
Core Tasks and Responsibilities:
Creating a strategy for developing the community
Communicating the vision, use, and impact of data and analytics within the organization
Energise internal partners and individuals around the use of data, facts, and information to drive transformational business value across the organization
Conducting community organizing and grassroots efforts to drive a culture of data-driven decision-making
Enabling and coordinating training/skill development (i.e. design thinking, data literacy, how to analyze data, critical thinking, etc.)
Organizing hackathons, conferences, events, etc. (may include internal and/or external participants)
Finding new users, engaging existing users, and addressing their questions
Engaging with individuals, teams, and committees to foster a culture of data-informed decision-making, and continuous learning
Provide community feedback to the management and stakeholders; be a voice for individuals and culture at leadership tables
Serve as a credible source of knowledge and information to community members who desire to be more involved and educated on various efforts
Daily duties can involve project planning, meeting with individuals and leaders, connecting people with necessary social resources, and creating informational materials and reports
Help the community to articulate needs and gaps, clarify and identify problems, explore solutions, select and apply interventions, as well as develop their own capabilities to deal with their own problems more effectively
If interested: conduct outreach and recruit internal participants, assist with overseeing volunteers, coops, interns, etc.
Bachelor's Degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Political Science, Marketing, Social work or a related field; minor in quantitative / STEM field highly desirable
Work or volunteer experience in community organizing, community management, grassroots, campaigning
Strong organizational, project management, and facilitation skills.
Exceptional written, presentation, and verbal communication skills
Knowledge/experience using digital platforms, online marketing, etc. to build and maintain a community
Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills
Experience in data & analytics including but not limited to data literacy, reporting, analytics, data science, AI in an applied setting
Experience teaching, training, or building curriculum
Ability to identify, track and build relevant community metrics / KPIs
