The School of Health and Natural Sciences at Mercy College invites qualified candidates for a full time appointment as a Senior Laboratory Associate in Microbiology in the Department of Natural Sciences in the School of Health and Natural Sciences at Mercy College. The focus of this position is on teaching Microbiology laboratory sections under the supervision of faculty. This position may also include teaching some sections of Anatomy and Physiology laboratory under the supervision of faculty. The Senior Laboratory Associate in Microbiology will work to enhance the lab experience including assisting in the coordination of the lecture and laboratory curricula. This individual will also perform essential departmental functions with regards to the management of laboratories. This will include assisting in ensuring safety and compliance as well as ordering and management of lab equipment at the Dobbs Ferry and Bronx campuses. Teaching excellence in Microbiology and Anatomy and Physiology laboratories, particularly in integrating innovative approaches to promoting student success and in developing an inclusive community in the classroom will be given preference. Ability to coordinate multiple laboratory sections required. A willingness to work collaboratively with faculty and to advise students from a wide range of disciplines, cultures and academic backgrounds is essential.
