The NAE Racial Justice and Reconciliation Collaborative Project Director is a full-time, exempt professional position. The Project Director works collaboratively with NAE staff to fulfill our mission to honor God by connecting and representing evangelical Christians in the United States.
The Project Director will guide the implementation of the NAE’s newly established Racial Justice and Reconciliation Collaborative, which aims to ensure that evangelicals understand and act upon the Bible’s commitment to justice and reconciliation.
Qualifications • Personal faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord • Agreement to and affirmation of the NAE Statement of Faith (available at NAE.org) • Regular attendance at an evangelical church • Member of the National Association of Evangelicals • Familiarity with and relationships in the evangelical community • Minimum of four years of professional experience (ministry or otherwise) • Baccalaureate degree required, Masters degree preferred • Ability to lead others to achieve project goals • Self-starter and ability to work with minimal supervision • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong relational and interpersonal skills • Careful attention to detail • Willingness to work as part of a small team • Capability and experience to fulfill responsibilities listed below
Responsibilities • Guides, implements and evaluates NAE efforts to inform and inspire evangelicals to act on matters of race, racial justice and racial reconciliation • Works with NAE staff and partners to create and disseminate resources, convene gatherings, create experiences and utilize communications tools to inform and inspire evangelicals to action • Carefully and intentionally builds relationships with diverse evangelical communities not currently well represented in the NAE • Identifies and communicates to NAE leadership potential organizational changes that would better serve diverse evangelical communities • Creates reports for NAE leadership and project funders • Travels when necessary for connection and relationship building • Works closely with NAE Director of Development & Membership to create and manage correspondence with diverse evangelicals and to integrate diverse donors and members into the NAE
Relationships • The Project Director reports to the Chief Operating Officer • The Project Director supervises the Project Coordinator • The Project Director works closely with the President and coordinates with other NAE staff
