SourceAmerica is looking for a talented Productivity Engineer to join its Workforce Development team. This position can be located anywhere near one of the SourceAmerica offices or in beautiful Upstate New York, close by the Director of Productivity Engineering for our organization.

SourceAmerica’s Productivity Engineers help people with disabilities across the United States perform their jobs more efficiently. In this role, you will be responsible for providing engineering assistance to member agencies participating in the AbilityOne Program to improve the productivity of individuals with significant disabilities, and to increase the inclusion of those unable to find employment because of the severity of their disabilities. The assistance you will provide will be primarily through the promotion, design, and use of software, devices, process improvements, trainings, and other appropriate means.
The preferred candidate will have experience building devices, experience in process design, and experience in coding or developing new software programs to assist in creating new lines of business and employment choices for people with disabilities (PWD). You will work within a team to help support SourceAmerica’s network of nonprofit agencies, so your ability to travel across the United States is important for success in this position.

Assist our network of nonprofit agencies (NPAs) to prioritize the scope and sequence of engineering assistance.
Help others in problem solving and ultimately be responsible for resolution.
Identify types and sources of production waste - and assist in its elimination.
Assist with industrial engineering streamlining and/ or manufacturing line reconfiguration with our NPAs that manufacture and distribute products
Assist in the design, development, and testing of aids to production and delivery of services to improve accommodations for people with disabilities.
Create and encourage innovation and productivity improvements.
Develop resource and training materials to aid in the promotion of productivity enhancement and inclusion.
Business travel is required for this position based on business need.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelors Degree required in engineering technology or other industrial engineering theory training and combination of years of experience
5 years of full-time work experience with productivity engineering, industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, or similar
Planning, design of programs related to the employment of persons with disabilities.
Ability to direct several small teams of people working on a similar project.
Experience in software design and/or workplace accommodations.
Ability to design/build production aids with programmable solutions.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Develop sound working relationships with others and be able to work in a fast paced, complex environment.
