Job Description Summary Established in 1990, the BSLCE, seeks to enhance student learning through academically connected community engagement and co-curricular programs, partnering with our local, national, and international nonprofit community partners to help address important public issues. Guided by Bentley's undergraduate curriculum, the Service-Learning programs provides a service experience that complements student coursework, while developing impactful programs in the community. Guided by Bentley's commitment to ethical leadership, the Civic Engagement programs engage students in nonprofit, social change, equity, social justice, and social entrepreneurship work toward creating sustainable solutions to local, national, and international issues.
The Program Assistant II (PAII) to the Bentley Service-Learning and Civic Engagement Center (BSLCE) supports the Director, the Senior Associate Director, the Associate Director, and the Assistant Director in programs and in the administration of the BSLCE. The PAII interacts with Bentley faculty, staff, students, and community partners. The position requires a person who is professional, able to work independently, highly organized, detail oriented, and committed to community and civic engagement. The PAII also must have a working knowledge of budgeting processes, exercise good communication skills, be familiar with and able to help oversee Bentley and BSLCE web and database applications, and demonstrate strong capabilities in event and program planning, student professional development, and office management. This is a full-time position. The PAII is responsible for managing day-to-day BSLCE administrative operations including, but not limited to, the duties and responsibilities detailed below. The PAII reports to the Senior Associate Director and the Director.
Provide administrative and logistical support for BSLCE, including the Director, Senior Associate Director, and Assistant Director
Maintain the BSLCE website with updates as provided by the Director, conducting an annual technology audit with other staff, and ordering technology as needed
Maintain and update the 4th-credit attendance and performance reports database
Oversee the center's CORI process each semester, including training and managing 2-3 student leaders and coordinating the processing of CORIs with Waltham High School
Support the student leader(s) in charge of BSLCE's transportation system, ensuring students have rides to their various community partner sites.
Maintain the center's van and the van schedule
Act as staff co-liaison to the student-led Events Committee, which hosts internal events for BSLCE student leaders throughout the year
Maintain and update the service-learning alumni database
Play an active role in developing and improving, and oversee, BSLCE's current service-learning Certificate Program and future Civic Engagement Certificate program
Work with Assistant Director and Director in continuous planning for and oversight of BSLCE's social media, currently Instagram and LinkedIn
Develop, maintain, and update a comprehensive database to include: mail lists; transportation assignments; student information including majors and contacts; faculty assignment and contact information; community partner project and contact information
Maintain the BSLCE purchasing card including paying bills and managing receipts
Responsible for logistics management of BSLCE meetings, events, academic sessions, and functions
Maintain, on an ongoing basis and based on input from the Assistant Director, Senior Associate Director, Associate Director, and Director, the overall BSLCE calendar and staff vacation schedule
Monitor and order office supplies
Maintain a friendly, professional, and high-spirited office atmosphere for students, community partners, faculty, and guests
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar position.
Knowledge of general budgetary procedures and protocols
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Experienced with Microsoft Office, WorkDay, and common web design and graphics packages
Strong organizational skills
Ability to manage and track multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
