The Vice President of Operations at the Greater Greer Chamber of Commerce is an essential, senior level position. This position reports directly to the Chamber President & CEO. The Vice President of Operations will have managerial responsibilities. This currently entails managing the Chamber’s full-time staff of the Director of Administration and part-time staff of the Director of Leadership Development and Director of Accounting as well as manage future positions as assigned.
The Vice President of Operations must have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related field. Requirements also include a minimum of three years’ experience managing employees, working with Boards/Committees, marketing/communications, and membership sales with businesses. Previous employment within in a Chamber of Commerce, membership organization, or similar non-profit a plus.
Serve as the point person for Chamber operations to ensure member growth, volunteer growth, and member engagement.
Oversee all administrative and operational policies and procedures as well as drives change within the organization to address the strategic needs and outcomes.
Leads and manages several operational function areas including Membership Recruitment and Retention, Facilities & Systems, Marketing/Communications, and Events.
Responsible for developing and maintaining a collaborative relationship between the Greater Greer Chamber, Chamber membership, community leaders, investors, and allies.
Responsible for Chamber Committee management as assigned.
Provides coordination and leadership of all programs to ensure accountability, project deliverables, fiscally responsible and alignment to strategic vision of the organization.
Supervise and monitor the performance of assigned staff.
Partners with the President & CEO to help identify and operationalize strategic initiatives.
Identifies training and educational needs for employees and/or the organization and implements training or works with outside vendors to address these needs.
Four-year degree and related experience in business, Chamber of Commerce, nonprofit management, communications or related field.
3+ years of progressive experience in a similar strategic leadership role
3 + years in marketing, advertising/design and communication experience
Experience in community development, advocacy and
Proven ability with tactical planning and facilitation to move initiatives forward
Exceptional interpersonal communication, and public speaking skills
