Do you want to play a role in ensuring vaccines are distributed effectively around the world? We’re looking for someone with a passion for data-driven solutions that is excited about using monitoring and evaluation data to rapidly learn, regularly iterate, and systematically ensure our programs are having an impact and contributing to global learning and policy around vaccines. As a member of the Advocacy Department, you’ll help our team protect and support the infrastructure required to get safe vaccines to 1 in 10 children born each year.
Our team works with governments to ensure they have the data needed to manage strong cold chains, and partners to solve gaps in knowledge and programmatic needs. Reporting to the Director for Vaccine Programs, you’ll ensure that Nexleaf is collecting and translating learnings from our programs into actionable recommendations for global vaccine advocates and policy-makers. We believe the right data can transform vaccine delivery around the world, and we’re looking for a teammate with ambitions as big as ours!
In this role, you will:
Translate Data to Learning and Impact
Identify actionable conclusions, lessons, and impact from evaluations and research studies
Articulate and share lessons learned and impact with a non technical audience
Lead the development of advocacy and policy agenda-setting pieces using learnings from study data (i.e.journal articles, research pieces, external presentations)
Regularly iterate and question programmatic impact, providing insights for the team to fail fast and learn faster
Contribute to the fulfillment of donor reports and requests
Deliver Actionable Data
Analyze project monitoring and evaluation study data (qualitative and quantitative) using statistical software for improve programs, iterate on approaches, and contribute to global knowledge
Collaborate with the Senior Data and Informatics Specialist to develop dynamic data visualizations using study data and data from remote temperature monitoring devices
Update monitoring and evaluation design to adapt to program and context changes
Lead the Design and Implementation of Project Research and Evaluations
Conduct literature reviews to support evaluation designs
Lead the development of program evaluation plans and other research designs to fit local context and programs, including longer term, research based approaches as well as shorter term rapid testing and evaluation
Develop IRB/ethics committee protocols, with support from in-country team members
Assist with the development of scopes of work for in-country research consultants/firms and review proposals
Training and Data Collection
Lead the development of quantitative and qualitative data collection tools, including mobile/electronic tools, with support from the Vaccine Team
Develop data collection training guides and oversee training local data collectors
Assist with supervising data collection and quality assurance during collection
Own the development and maintenance of database tables,
Prepare data and develop codebooks for analysis of qualitative data
5+ years developing and implementing monitoring, evaluation and learning plans incorporating both quantitative and qualitative analysis
Expertise in quantitative and qualitative statistical software (STATA, SPSS, R, SAS, Atlas.t, Nvivo, Deddosse, etc.)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient technical writing skills and ability to produce lean reports and documents
Ability to translate data into language for advocacy and policy setting stakeholders
Must be available for regular morning or evening calls outside of standard work hours to communicate with team members and stakeholders in global time zones
Familiarity with developing program logic models/logframes
