The President serves as the chief executive officer of the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce (CDCC) who is a dynamic individual providing leadership, innovation, strategic direction and oversight in order to advance the purpose of the organization. This position is responsible for providing highly visible leadership and support on all issues related to the businesses, economy and community. As the chief executive officer of the Chamber, responsibilities include but are not limited to: growing and sustaining membership, technology advancement, leading and providing support for operations, programs, activities, and affairs of the organization, including the Chamber’s Strategic Plan, through the empowerment of the CDCC team.
The President reports to the Board of Directors. This is a full-time salaried position with flexible working hours dependent upon meetings, community activities, events and other occurrences requiring attendance and participation.
Promotes, advances and demonstrates commitment to CDCC’s purpose, mission, vision, and values.
Member Relations: promotes growth, retention, and expansion of existing member businesses by implementing programs/systems that support CDCC members.
Responsible for recruiting, training, developing, mentoring, empowering, motivating and holding the CDCC team accountable in order to achieve success.
Embraces technology and emerging trends to help the CDCC operate more efficiently, provide a better member experience and meet goals.
Provides support and leadership to the Board of Directors and any committees appointed by the Board.
In partnership with the board, is responsible for creating, executing and providing updates on the organizations strategic plan, goals and progress in order to drive change management, purpose fulfillment and operational outcomes.
Provides leadership strategically and systemically both within the organization and outside of it through advocacy at the local, regional, state and, if appropriate, federal levels in matters of importance to members and the organization.
Acts as the key spokesperson and liaison for the organization.
Actively participates in legislative and regulatory advocacy work at the local, regional, state, and federal level to ensure that the needs of the members of the organization are communicated and actively pursued. Through active participation, seeks to provide leadership and influence policy development to ultimately affect legislative and regulatory activity related to business and economic development issues specific to our area.
Responsible for the overall financial management of the organization

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
Five years of experience in a business-related field or other leadership position.
Graduate of Institute of Organization Management a plus.
CRITICAL PHYSICAL DEMAND OF THE JOB
Must be able to spend the majority of day walking, driving, and/or sitting or standing for extended periods of time.
May be regularly required to travel to off-site locations that may not be barrier-free.
Must be able to type on a computer keyboard and operate other office equipment.
Must be able to effectively communicate with others both verbally and in writing. The ability to see, hear, and speak are helpful in this process.
Must be able to work well under stress and meet deadlines.
