The Associate Director of Donor Engagement will be responsible for conceiving and executing meaningful opportunities for Wellesley donors to deepen their institutional involvement through virtual and in-person meetings, regional events, donor visits, and customized outreach. This position will ensure that Wellesley College’s most generous donors and volunteers are actively and intentionally connected to their giving through activities and other meaningful touchpoints. This full-time, exempt position reports to the Director of Donor Relations.
Under the direction of the Vice President, works with the Director of Donor Relations to develop fiscal year plans for on campus events, virtual events, regional activities, and other development needs to engage donors and prospects.
Coordinates and communicates with development colleagues on donor engagement strategies, including creating custom stewardship plans for high level donors.
Supports communications, activities, programming, and special projects for donor recognition societies.
Utilizes the development database to track, monitor, and manage activities for donors, prospects, and volunteers and evaluate programming and determine the return on investment.
Responsible for event and meeting briefings to communicate with leadership and development staff.
Maintain working relationships with institutional and external partners.
Attends planning meetings, training sessions, events, and conferences as necessary.

Progressive experience in a development, nonprofit or university setting, with an emphasis in donor relations, stewardship, event management or fundraising.
Experience managing high-profile events and proven project management experience along with demonstrated analytical, strategic-thinking, adaptability, communication and relationship-building skills are essential.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication, and technical skills are essential.
Professional and diplomatic demeanor, and the ability to work well independently as a member of a group or committee
Working knowledge of databases or similar and expert proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with an emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred level/type of experience
5-7 years professional experience, preferably within a higher education setting in a capital campaign environment.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
