Summary: The Sr. Director for Public Health Infrastructure will provide strategic oversight for ASTHO???s public health infrastructure team which leads capacity building and technical support for state and territorial health agencies in the areas of performance management and improvement, assessment and planning, public health finance, and coordinates internally to address workforce development. Supports the national accreditation program for health agencies.
Serves as a subject matter expert in public health agency infrastructure, performance management and improvement, assessment and planning, public health finance, and workforce.
Provides strategic guidance and oversight for the development and delivery of evidence-based and innovative public health infrastructure capacity building and technical assistance.
Responsible for developing and managing grant proposals, cooperative agreements, budgets, project work plans, progress reports, meeting abstracts, agendas, meeting summaries, background papers, and other reports.
Develops and manages strategic partner and funder relationships (CDC, HRSA, PHAB, de Beaumont Foundation, etc.)
Stays abreast of developments in priority areas to identify new partnerships, directions, and opportunities for expansion.
Provides leadership to advance state and territorial public health agency perspectives and needs on national infrastructure and quality improvement initiatives.
Oversees the identification and dissemination of evidence-based and promising practices in public health infrastructure development.
Builds, leads, and motivates the team including setting objectives and managing performance, coaching and providing feedback, supporting staff development, and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Master???s Degree in Organizational Development/Leadership, MPH, MSW or relevant field of study
At least 7 years progressive experience supporting governmental public health infrastructure
Organization skills to support multiple projects and deadlines
Experience in state/local governmental public health highly preferred

Ability to lead a team, work independently and follow through to complete tasks on time
