The Chester Children’s Chorus was founded in 1994 by John Alston and now numbers approximately 100 children ages 8 - 18 years old. Its mission is to provide an intensive, sophisticated, and joyful choral music experience to young people of the city of Chester, and to support their academic achievement and personal development. The year-round program consists of after-school and Saturday choral music rehearsals and math practice during the school year, and a summer learning program at Swarthmore College that includes choral rehearsals, performances, as well as academic, art and athletic experiences.
Reporting to the Managing & Education Director, the Marketing and Development Associate supports all development activities and marketing efforts within the Chester Children’s Chorus.
Essential Responsibilities: Development: • Implement mailing campaigns with tasks to include database reports, mail merges, printing, and mailing. • Edit and proof materials for accuracy, using correct format, grammar, punctuation and spelling. • Maintain paper and electronic files, records and logs. • Assist in planning and arranging meetings. • Assist with pre- and post-performance publicity and correspondence. • Assist with planning, management and execution of donor events such as site visits, performances and house parties.
Marketing: • Oversee, manage and execute marketing and communications timeline to include print and digital communications. • Manage and update content for the CCC website. • Distribute email messages using the Emma program. • Maintain and update social media accounts.
Required Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant marketing and development experience will be considered. • 1-2 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, communications, or administration. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and Google Suite products. • Knowledge of database systems such as Banner and Argos preferred. • Experience using Emma or similar email marketing software preferred. • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite preferred. • Ability to work independently with meticulous attention to detail. • Exceptional organizational, planning, and prioritizing skills. • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills. • Experience working across multiple teams and departments to support successful collaborative project planning and execution. • Ability to manage projects in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment. • Strong customer-service orientation and the ability to consistently maintain a high level of discretion and professionalism.
