Subject:Position Vacancy – Special Projects & Data Manager to support the project portfolio of School Systems Partnerships & Programs (SSPP), Bank Street Education Center (the Ed Center)
Summary Position: Bank Street Education Center (the Ed Center), a division within Bank Street College of Education (the College) created to support Bank Street’s public impact work, is currently seeking a Special Projects & Data Manager to support projects across the School Systems Partnerships & Programs (SSPP) project portfolio.
Key relationships: The Special Projects & Data Manager will report to the Associate Director of Strategy & Implementation, and work closely with the Ed Center’s Divisional Support Team and broader SSPP team.
Responsibilities: In collaboration with their supervisor, their project teams, and the broader SSPP team, the Special Projects & Data Manager will be responsible for the following:
Creating implementation strategies that represent the partnership work as outlined in a project proposal and discussed in initial project team meetings;
Creating and executing on a project plan that oversees the timelines across various moving strands of work on assigned projects;
Regularly maintaining and executing on project plan by making updates, providing team updates, and escalating timelines and shifting priorities when needed;
Supporting team meetings and conversations by recording meeting notes, documenting key decisions, and articulating next steps to ensure successful project execution;
Supporting facilitation of team meetings by setting up agendas, summarizing decisions and next steps, and redirecting conversations as needed;
Support content development by helping to create and finalize professional learning arcs, session outlines, PowerPoint decks, and associated resources;
Supporting the Project Director in the management of the administrative elements of regular meetings with the internal team and external partners, including scheduling, preparing agendas, handouts, PowerPoint decks, and necessary materials, and following up from meetings as needed;
Supporting in maintaining strategic partnership with a partner (e.g., ongoing communications, step-back meetings, calendaring, etc.);
Providing technical support for professional learning engagements, including managing logistical details and platform guidance in preparation of and during sessions;
Maintaining functional and supportive organizational systems and processes, including managing the G:Drive, codifying and revising existing and new processes, etc.; and
Performing related duties as assigned.
Data Collection & Reporting:
Collaborating with project team members to identify project metrics according to goals outlined in contracts;
In collaboration with key stakeholders, creating data collection tools that capture data aligned to these metrics (e.g. surveys, observation tools, interviews);
Building and maintaining data management structures for long-term qualitative and quantitative data collection, including troubleshooting tools for internal and external use;
Capturing data to track and report key performance indicators identified by leadership appropriate to be shared with internal and external audiences (e.g. Board meetings, funder pitches, marketing materials).
Creating data visualization images for key performance indicators; as well as generating reports visualizing and communicating project outcomes, as outlined in contracts and as needed for funders and the leadership team. These include, but are not limited to, mid-year and final reports for various projects, board of directors updates and materials for new and existing funders;
Analyzing key data points and prepare reports to share with internal and external audiences (e.g., team meetings, district teams, funder reporting and proposals, marketing materials, etc.);
Contributing regularly to team meetings and share regular and timely updates on the impact of the project;
Participating in self-initiated and job-provided professional development activities to stay current on matters related to education, data analysis, and related project content areas;
Supporting the broader team to deeply understand partner context by researching the history of the city/district and staying current on local topics;
Contributing to the SSPP-wide analytics by informing a broader analytics strategy across the portfolio and serving as an Analyst on other project teams as assigned; and
Performing related duties as assigned.
Special Projects & Operations:
Assisting with communications work for broader SSPP team and Ed Center division, including branding, marketing and website development;
Assisting with the creation and upkeep of a knowledge management system;
Developing and maintaining budget tracking tools at the project-level as well as at the SSPP portfolio-level (e.g., budget breakdown per project, invoicing tool, budget tracker, etc.);
Managing deadlines around fiscal year budgeting and escalate up to SSPP and Ed Center leaders as needed;
Supporting in creating and presenting budgetary analyses (e.g., financial updates, time-tracking reports, etc.);
Supporting the Associate Director of Strategy & Implementation in maintaining a functional and supportive organizational system within the G:Drive, files, documented systems and processes, etc.; and
Performing related tasks as assigned.
Background in education (nonprofit organizations and/or early childhood development preferred)
Demonstrated ability to design and manage complex and multiple projects;
Advanced expertise in Google suite, PowerPoint, Excel, project management, and analytical skills
Demonstrated ability to present information, including data, in multiple formats;
Strong analytical skills, with experience with both qualitative and quantitative data
Proficiency with quantitative and qualitative analysis software (e.g. STATA, SPSS, R, NVivo, Qualtrics);
