The Cloud Systems Engineer is responsible for architecting, building, migrating and supporting enterprise applications and virtualized resources within Microsoft Azure, O365, Amazon Web Services, Salesforce and other similar cloud platforms. The Cloud Systems Engineer leads the design, implementation, maintenance and administration of solutions in Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Software as a Service (SaaS) environments. Additionally, the Cloud Systems Engineer is responsible for current state and future state documentation, planning and execution of cloud solutions projects that are aligned with organizational goals. Serves as the subject matter expert for all matters related to cloud design and support.
Leads design, implementation and support of cloud-based platforms and services. Manages the extension of system monitoring and backup services to cloud-based solutions
Analyzes, plans and manages migration of on-premise workloads to cloud-based infrastructure and services
Works with operations and development teams to optimize deployments and automate infrastructure and collaborate with internal stakeholders, cross-functional teams, third-party vendors and consultants
Works with the information security team to ensure proper security controls and infrastructure practices have been implemented on cloud platform and services
Monitors, reviews and responds to alerts from monitoring/alerting systems to maintain uptime and health performance metrics of cloud infrastructure and services
Monitors, evaluates and escalates all changes in utilization that impact billing.
Creates and continuously updates the cloud strategy roadmap and presents to leadership on a quarterly basis.
Partners with vendors often to continuously optimize the environment for the best performance.

A minimum of 7 years prior IT experience is required
5+ years’ experience working with Cloud technologies (Microsoft, Amazon, Google) required
5+ years’ experience with Microsoft Azure and O365
3+ years’ experience with Salesforce CRM preferred
An understanding of security and compliance in a public/multi or hybrid cloud environment (PCI, PII, HIPAA, etc.)
Experience with health-based institutions, related health IT systems and compliance requirements preferred
Strong knowledge of the Microsoft stack of technologies
Strong Identity and Access Management experience, including knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy
Functional knowledge of Networking (VPN, firewalls, switching, and DNS)
Exceptional documentation skills and attention to detail for documentation (design documentation, processes/procedures, environment diagrams, etc.)
Experience with virtualization solutions including Citrix Xen Server, Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere is a plus
Working knowledge of email technologies (Exchange, mail routing, mail security filtering, etc.)
Ability to understand and develop PowerShell based solutions is a plus

This position is based in Rosemont, Illinois and is open to applicants who are able to relocate to commuting distance to that office.
