Position Summary:
The Program Manager for Alumni Relations reports to the Senior Director of Strategic Initiatives, with a dotted line to the Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations.
Essential Functions:
Coordinates day-to-day activities of the office with minimal supervision; proposes and implements improvements to current processes and procedures
Provides full administrative support to the Associate Vice President and provides secondary administrative support to all alumni relations staff members
Exercises independent judgment in responding to all email and phone inquiries
Supervises student workers, facilitates their workflow, and ensures that they are meeting deadlines
Identifies and executes fun, interesting, and informative social media strategies that engage our alumni, parents, and friends
Serves as the lead monitor for social media and takes initiative to independently post/respond as necessary
Secures Fordham representatives for other Universities' presidential inaugurations and prepares annual report of inauguration activity
Proactively communicates with trustees, top prospects, and key alumni regarding alumni relations initiatives
Plans, promotes, and oversees alumni events as necessary
Attends events and conferences as a representative of Fordham
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Minimum three years of administrative experience supporting multiple professionals
Demonstrates solid mastery of MS Office applications, especially MS Excel and Word, and good understanding of database applications
Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally in writing and verbally; demonstrates excellent interpersonal, customer-service, and organizational skills
Experience in dealing with senior executives in profit and nonprofit sectors
Able to exercise administrative judgment and assume responsibility for decisions, consequences, and results that impact a team.
Thrives in a fast-paced environment
Works independently to solve problems with minimal supervision
Employs initiative, judgment, and creativity to solve problems and leverage opportunities
Has a great sense of humor and willingness to learn new tools/applications
Has demonstrated experience with various social media platforms through prior professional and/or personal experience
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor's degree
Experience as a volunteer or managing volunteers
Interest in alumni relations and fundraising and/or higher education
