The University of Tennessee Foundation ((UTFI) is seeking an Assistant, Associate or Director of External Relations for the McClung Museum in Knoxville, Tennessee. Under the direction of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Campus-Wide Initiatives at the UT Foundation and the Jefferson Chapman Executive Director of the McClung Museum, the role will work with both UT Foundation and McClung Museum staff, as well as internal and external stakeholders (university administrators, donors, alumni, etc.) to set and carry out fundraising strategy for the museum including: annual giving, events based fundraising, major gifts fundraising, grant writing, , planned giving strategy, and sponsorships.
The position implements a comprehensive donor strategy for the museum--which includes, but is not limited to, identifying, cultivating, strategizing, soliciting, negotiating, and stewarding donor prospects to secure financial support and gift-in-kind donations to the University's McClung Museum. This position will plan/host stewardship and fundraising events and provide a donor-centered focus to marketing efforts and implement strategies to increase exposure of the museum. Other duties include budget management, reporting and oversight of the museum's membership/annual giving program and staff liaison for the Museum Advisory Board.
